2. Why does the Stage 1 Plus use a Hybrid 9-Blade turbine?
The original Toyota turbine features 10 heavy blades. Our upgraded 9-blade Inconel 713C turbine wheel is significantly lighter, offering much faster throttle response. This high-flow design also reduces engine backpressure and lowers EGTs, ensuring superior protection for your cylinder head.
3. Will the Stage 2 (4mm bigger wheel) make the turbo laggier?
Actually, it's designed for the opposite. Although 4mm larger, the forged MFS Billet aluminum is far lighter than the original cast wheel. This reduced mass allows the turbo to spool up earlier in the RPM range, delivering instant towing torque and eliminating lag.
4. Do I need to upgrade my fuel pump or injectors?
For Stage 1 (12 PSI), standard settings are fine. For the 15 PSI potential of Stage 1 Plus or Stage 2, we highly recommend a professional fuel pump adjustment to ensure the air-to-fuel ratio is optimized for peak performance and safe operating temperatures.
5. Is this a direct bolt-on for the factory CT26 mounting points?
Yes, 100%. All CCT 80 Series upgrades are true direct bolt-on replacements. You can reuse your factory oil lines, coolant lines, and exhaust manifold with no custom adapters or modifications required.
6. What is the main benefit of the 2mm vs 4mm larger impeller wheels?
