1. Why doesn't the Stage 1 or Stage 2 turbo come with an actuator?
For high-performance builds, precision is everything. Our Stage 1 and Stage 2 series are designed for vehicles intended for custom tuning. We recommend utilizing your original OEM actuator, as the genuine units provide much more stable and accurate communication with the car's ECU during a remap or tune.

2. What is the main difference between CCT Stage 1 and Stage 2 for the 140kw YD25?
Stage 1 features our Performance Design MFS Billet wheel (factory size) for instant response. Stage 2 takes it further with a 4mm larger compressor wheel for maximum induction volume. Both are engineered to safely handle sustained boost up to 24 PSI.

3. Will the 4mm bigger wheel on the Stage 2 cause more turbo lag?
No. Thanks to the ultra-lightweight forged MFS Billet material, even the larger Stage 2 wheel has less rotating mass than the heavy factory cast wheel, allowing the turbo to spool up much faster and providing immediate low-end torque while providing extreme top-end power.

4. Is a custom ECU tune mandatory for this 24 PSI upgrade?
While our turbos are a direct bolt-on fit, we highly recommend a professional ECU remap to safely unlock the 24 PSI potential. A custom tune ensures your fuel delivery and boost maps are perfectly synchronized with the increased airflow, protecting your engine while maximizing gains.

5. My current OEM actuator is failing. Can I use an aftermarket one for tuning?
While aftermarket actuators are fine for standard replacements, for a Stage 1 or Stage 2 tuned setup, we strongly advise using a genuine OEM actuator. The OEM units have tighter communication protocols with the car's engine management system, which is critical for maintaining stable boost pressure at 24 PSI.

6. Will this upgrade solve the common 'Limp Mode' issues on my D40?
Yes. Many D40 Limp Mode issues are caused by carbon-clogged VNT vanes in the old turbo. Our units feature precision-assembled and tested VNT mechanisms. Combined with your reliable OEM actuator, this setup ensures smooth boost delivery and eliminates most overboost/underboost errors.

8. Does the Stage 1/Stage 2 series help with high Exhaust Gas Temperatures (EGTs)?
