What is the difference between the CCT Stage 1 and a standard replacement turbo?

The CCT Stage 1 is a performance-oriented evolution of the original K0422-582. While the exterior remains identical for a perfect factory fit, the internal compressor has been replaced with our high-flow Billet wheel, significantly improving air volume and throttle response compared to the original cast wheel.

What are the benefits of the Billet "Slim Hub" and "High Blade" design?

Our Billet compressor wheel is CNC-machined from solid high-grade aluminum. The Slim Hub design allows for a larger blade surface area, while the High Blade geometry moves more air per revolution. This combination reduces turbo lag and allows the engine to reach its power band much faster than the factory unit.

What is the maximum boost pressure this Stage 1 upgrade can handle?

The CCT Stage 1 for the Mazda CX-7 is engineered to handle a maximum warranted boost pressure of 18 PSI. This gives you plenty of overhead for performance tuning while maintaining structural integrity.

Is the boost pre-set out of the box?

Yes. For your safety and to ensure the turbo works with your factory ECU settings immediately, we pre-set the wastegate to factory standard boost levels. It is then up to you or your tuner to adjust the boost if you are aiming for the 18 PSI limit.

Is this a direct bolt-on replacement for my Mazda CX-7?
