Performance Upgrade FAQ: Stage 1 & Stage 2

What is the main difference between the Stage 1 and Stage 2 upgrades?
Both stages feature Billet internals, but serve different goals. The Stage 1 uses an optimized "Slim Hub" Billet wheel for maximum response and faster spooling. The Stage 2 features a 4mm larger Billet compressor wheel designed to move a much higher volume of air for maximum power gains.
What are the benefits of the Stage 1 "Slim Hub" Billet wheel?
The Stage 1 is all about response. By using a Billet wheel with a slimmer hub and higher blades, we decrease the weight of the rotating assembly. This results in significantly reduced turbo lag and a much more responsive feel during daily driving and light towing.
How does the Stage 2 "4mm Bigger" wheel improve performance?
The Stage 2 is designed for the highest power output. The 4mm increase in wheel diameter allows the turbo to flow substantially more air volume. This provides a much stronger pull in the mid-to-high RPM range, making it ideal for heavily loaded vehicles or performance-tuned setups.
What is the maximum boost pressure for these units?
Both the Stage 1 and Stage 2 units are engineered and warranted to handle a maximum boost pressure of 16 PSI. This provides a safe but powerful increase over factory settings while maintaining the long-term reliability of your engine.
Why is the Stage 2 also limited to 16 PSI if it has a bigger wheel?
The 16 PSI limit ensures the structural integrity of the turbo and the safety of your engine. Crucially, because the Stage 2 has a larger wheel, it will move more air volume at 16 PSI than the Stage 1, resulting in more total power even at the same pressure level.
Are these turbos direct bolt-on replacements?
Yes. Despite the massive internal upgrades, we have maintained the exact factory external dimensions for both stages. Both are 100% direct bolt-on replacements, utilizing your original manifold, exhaust, oil lines, and coolant connections.
Do I need a professional tune or ECU re-map?
For the Stage 1 turbo, a tune is not necessary. However, for the Stage 2, or if you plan to run either unit at the 16 PSI limit, we highly recommend a professional tune to ensure your fuel delivery and timing are optimized for the increased airflow.
What kind of warranty coverage is included?
Because we use premium Billet internals, we offer an industry-leading 24-month warranty against manufacturing defects on both Stage 1 and Stage 2 units. This is double the warranty length of our standard replacement range.
How does the "Lifetime Rebuild Guarantee" work?
Our Lifetime Rebuild Guarantee means that if your turbo ever requires a rebuild due to normal wear and tear, we provide the labor for free for the life of the unit. You only pay for the specific parts used in the rebuild.
Which stage should I choose for my vehicle?
If you want original-like driveability with much faster spooling for daily driving, Stage 1 is the perfect choice. If you are looking for maximum power, have a modified exhaust/intercooler, or frequently carry very heavy loads, the Stage 2 is the ultimate upgrade.
