1. My Ranger 3.2 is very sluggish at low RPM. Will this CCT turbo make the lag worse?
Definitely not. In fact, it’s the primary cure for Ranger lag. All CCT Turbos come with a Performance Design MFS Billet wheel; the aircraft-grade forged aluminum is much lighter than the heavy factory cast wheel. This reduces inertia, allowing the turbo to spool up much earlier in the RPM range, giving you immediate throttle response when you need to merge into traffic.
2. Can I use this turbo as a direct replacement for my PX1, or is it for PX2/PX3 as well?
It fits all of them! This unit is designed as a high-quality direct replacement for the PX1 (2011-2015) and as a high-flow performance upgrade for the PX2 and PX3 (2015-2021). It is 100% bolt-on compatible across the entire 3.2L P5AT range.
3. I tow a heavy off-road caravan. How will this turbo affect my Exhaust Gas Temperatures (EGTs)?
This is where the CCT upgrade shines. The larger, more efficient compressor wheel pushes more air into the cylinders, creating a better air-to-fuel ratio. This results in a cleaner, more efficient burn which actually lowers your EGTs, allowing you to tow heavy loads up long inclines with much greater safety and engine longevity.
4. Does this turbo come with the electronic actuator pre-calibrated?
Yes. We provide this turbocharger 100% complete with a brand new, pre-calibrated electronic stepper motor actuator. It is air-flow calibrated in our Melbourne facility to ensure it works perfectly with your Ranger’s ECU right out of the box—no manual adjustment required. Both aftermarket and Hella options are available.
5. Do I need a Dyno Tune or ECU remap to run this CCT Stage 1 Plus?
No, no tune is required. We’ve engineered this series as an "OEM Plus" upgrade that runs safely on your factory ECU settings. You get the benefits of better response and reliability immediately. However, if you do decide to get a custom tune later, our "Overkill" internals are already built to handle the extra boost.
6. Does the CCT Stage 2 series require a custom ECU tune to run safely?
While the Stage 2 will run on standard factory settings, we highly recommend a custom ECU remap or tune to fully unlock its potential. Because the Stage 2 features a significantly larger Performance Design wheel, a professional tune ensures optimized fuel delivery and timing to match the increased airflow, resulting in the maximum possible torque gains.
7. Is the Stage 1 Plus safe for a daily driven Ranger? What is the max boost?
Absolutely. It is designed specifically for daily reliability. Equipped with our Reinforced HD 360° Bearing System, it can safely handle boost levels up to 24 PSI (standard is ~16-18 PSI) under heavy load, ensuring it stays reliable even on the hottest Australian summer days.
8. Does the kit include the gaskets needed for the 3.2L P5AT engine?

9. Why is CSR/VSR Balancing so critical for the Ranger's 5-cylinder engine?
The 3.2L is a 5-cylinder engine which has unique vibration characteristics. A turbo spinning at 150,000+ RPM must be perfectly balanced. We use VSR technology in Melbourne to balance every unit to tolerances much tighter than factory standards, eliminating the "turbo whistle" and maximizing bearing life.
