1. How do I know if my Triton needs the VT16 (4WD) or VT10 (2WD) turbo?
For Mitsubishi Triton MN models, use this VT16 unit if you have a 4WD. If you have a 2WD High-Rider, you require the VT10. For Mitsubishi Challenger (PB/PC), this VT16 model fits all units, both 2WD and 4WD. If unsure, please send us your VIN for verification.

2. My MN Triton feels "gutless" when towing. Will the CCT Stage 1 fix this?
Yes. The factory cast wheel in the 4D56 is heavy and takes longer to reach full boost. Our Stage 1 Performance Design Billet wheel is lighter and more efficient, allowing the turbo to spool up much earlier, providing the immediate low-end torque required for towing.

3. Will the Stage 2 upgrade cause my 2.5L engine to run high EGTs?
Actually, it’s the opposite. The Stage 2 pushes a higher volume of cool, dense air into the engine, improving the air-to-fuel ratio. This results in a cleaner burn that naturally lowers Exhaust Gas Temperatures (EGTs), protecting your 4D56 cylinder head under load.

4. I have a 3-inch exhaust and snorkel. Which Stage is best for me?
If you have already improved the breathing of your Triton, the Stage 2 is your best choice. It is built to take full advantage of the increased airflow, allowing you to maximize mid-range power and top-end performance without straining the engine.

5. Is a custom Dyno Tune mandatory for the CCT Stage 2?
While Stage 1 is a direct bolt-on and drive upgrade, we highly recommend a professional tune for the Stage 2 to fully unlock the potential of the larger wheel and ensure absolute engine safety.

6. I’m seeing black smoke under heavy acceleration. Can a CCT upgrade fix this?
Yes. Black smoke is often a sign of incomplete combustion. By induction of a higher volume of air more efficiently via our Billet wheel, the CCT upgrade improves the combustion process, reducing soot buildup and black smoke.

7. Does this unit come with the pneumatic actuator pre-set for boost levels?
Yes. Every CCT unit for the Triton/Challenger range comes complete with a brand new, pre-calibrated pneumatic actuator. It is bench-tested in Melbourne to ensure the VNT vanes match factory-specified vacuum levels.

8. Does this turbocharger fit the Mitsubishi Pajero?
No. This unit (VT16) specifically fits the Mitsubishi Triton MN 4WD and Challenger PB/PC. It does NOT fit the Mitsubishi Pajero. Please check your model or provide your VIN before purchase.

9. Why is it important to clean the intercooler when installing a new turbo?
The 4D56 engine often has oil blow-by issues that coat the intercooler. If you install a new high-performance turbo without cleaning the intercooler, old oil and debris can be sucked in, causing instant damage. Always clean your intake system thoroughly.
